Telecommunications History Repository – Teletár
The exhibition is closed for an unspecified period.
The telecommunications history storage facility opened in 2007 in the former telephone switchboard building on Avas Hill. The Telecommunications Storage Room introduces visitors to the history of telephone technology, with many telecommunications artefacts and equipment from the past, which were previously stored in warehouses.
Many of the old Morse telegraphs, wooden-box wall and desktop telephones, manual and automatic telephone switchboards are still in functioning condition.
In the lecture room, which can also host group sessions for up to 30 people, visitors can watch DVDs and videos on the history of telecommunications.
Detailed information on the exhibits is available on the touch-screen information desk, which also offers a playful way to learn more about the exhibits through quizzes.
