Horváth-crest
Lajos Horváth, a former Miskolc Member of the Hungarian Parliament and Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior in 1848-49, who also rests in the Reformed Graveyard on Avas Hill, donated 1000 forints making possible the improvement of the area around the present lookout tower, so the area is named in memory of the former politician.
Although the name has not changed, the function of the area has now been greatly altered, as Miskolc's largest recreational park has been built on the formerly unused site. A retro picnic park, sun loungers and viewpoints overlooking the city have been created for perfect relaxation.
Sports enthusiasts will definitely love the climbing wall and the outdoor gym, but the braver ones can also try the Skateboard Park in the ground. For children, from little ones to older, there are three different playgrounds.
A fenced dog playing area and a dog run have also been built for the enjoyment of those with puppies.
