Kocsonyafesztivál

Miskolc, the centre of the Bükkalja wine region awaits visitors with a wide selection of wines, wine tasting, Hungarian flavours and fine international cuisine.

Our guests cannot only find wines produced from grape varieties characteristic of our region (Welschriesling, Zenit, Chardonnay, Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch) in all hotels and restaurants, but also the wines of the Tokaj-Hegyalja region, part of UNESCO World Heritage.
The city has traditions of pálinka (fruit brandy) distilling, which reached both country-level and international recognition.

The Lillafüred Trout Breeding Farm is located west of Miskolc, in the area of the Bükk National Park. Venturesome guests can catch the fish that will be grilled for them on the spot.

The Trout Farm breeds rainbow trout and holds a gene pool of brown trout, native of Hungary. The calming environment of the Bükk Mountains and the crystal clear air makes an unforgettable event of the out-of-the-common meal.
Guests can taste fish and game meals in a great number of Miskolc restaurants, but also get acquainted with the culinary pleasures of the vegetarian, reform, Mediterranean and Asian kitchen.

Bükkszentkereszt is the home of nationwide renowned naturopath uncle Gyuri Szabó, who can prepare herb tea from medical plants collected on the slopes of the Bükk Mountains in order to cure a number of diseases. The most famous of these is the „György (George)-tea” recommended to treat diabetes.
