Hungarian Engineering and Transport Museum – Massa Museum – „Ancient Furnace”, Forge (Vasverő)

Őskohó

Industrial monuments such as the ancient forge can be found only in three places in Europe. Beside the ancient forge a reconstructed iron forge stands from the 18th century and the Massa Museum, displaying its history.

Hungarian Museum of Technology and Traffic – Museum of Metallurgy

The museum presents the historical development of the Hungarian and universal iron smelting from the ancient world until today – illustrated by rich collection of artefacts, dioramas, running models.

Inner City Lutheran Church

Inner City Lutheran Church

The church was erected in 1797 in late baroque style. Its altar-piece was painted by Bertalan Székely in 1897 (Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane).

Inner city Reformed Church („Rooster Church”)

Inner city Reformed Church (Kakas-templom „Rooster Church”)

The church of late baroque style was erected between 1786 and 1808, its 68 metre high tower is the highest in the diocese, the Eszter Bell weighing about 30 quintals (53 Viennese quintals) is the largest bell of the city.

Kemény Dénes Municipal Swimming Pool

The European-level facility, suitable for organising international competitions, was built in the proximity of the University of Miskolc, by the road to Miskolctapolca.

Kisköves

Kisköves

The centre of the 12-hectare Kisköves is an open Diantho–Seslerietum surrounded by downy oaks, karst shrub forest and hornbeam-oak forest. Its meadow-steppes are vegetated by three-toothed orchid, spring pheasant's eye, Slovak penny-cress, wild sunflower and squarrose knapweed.

Klier-House

The baroque dwelling house was erected during the last years of the 18th century, Vencel Klier, the well-known architect of Mickolc and his family lived here for a long time.

Lake Hámori

Lake Hámori

Lake Hámori, lying in a breathtaking environment, was created by the impounding of the Garadna stream. Today it is a popular fishing and boat lake; during winter ice skating is possible. A more than 1 km long footpath runs along the shore.

Law-tree, Turkish Hazel

According to the traditions, the two beautiful Turkish hazel trees sprang from the roots of a 60-year old log. Prior to 1848 it was a law-tree: judgements were executed here; therefore it is regarded as a monument of cultural history.
